.......................................... Kismet Farm CSA*:
This 2012 season we introduce Kismet Farm and Bakery shares. This is a convenient way to get our delicious fruit and amazing baked goods. Our flexible CSA offers you a choice of incredible bakery items and regular access to our coveted fruit. Michigan and Chicagoland residents can make 2012 their tastiest year yet- while supporting a local organic farm! Click for the CSA details. Click here to download the CSA membership form.
.......................................... Bakery Plans:
Not only are we Organic fruit farmers but we are awesome artisan bakers as well.
We were the husband and wife baking team that brought the Michigan lakeshore favorites like SeedySalt bread. We are building a bakery on Kismet farm, so we can produce amazing fruit pastry and super crusty loaves from the comfort of our own farm! The kitchen will also host the
"Kids Table", a program bringing the farm to table experience to local school groups and organizations in our community.
We are raising funds to complete the bakery build out. You can support us in two ways... Join the Farm and Bakery CSA. Or consider making a loan to your local Organic fruit farm. If you would like to discuss our business plan and become a cherished local lender, e-mail Mari to talk about it. We hope you will join in 2012 us as we grow community, food and perspective!
.......................................... New growth:
Kismet farm has cleared and cover-cropped more acreage- we will be planting vegetables to sell along side our other offerings at the Road Stand.
More fruit plantings coming soon. ..........................................
Get growing:
Our Apprenticeships begin in May and run through October. Although our apprentices do work in all aspects of our farm, we have them focus on either Fruit or Vegetable Production. As part of the Apprenticeships, we offer housing, food, and monthly stipend (based on your experience). We will take the time to learn about what you are looking to gain and provide you with some time each week to focus on those aspects of your experience here on Kismet Farm. We will be glad to send you our Apprentiship application. Applications are due in February, decisions are made by the end of March.E-mail Chris for more information.

If you would like to volunteer we have opportunities all year long. Get in touch with Chris to explore those opportunities.

*CSA = Community Supported Agriculture. Typically a CSA member will pay up-front thereby supporting the farmer (to better buffer themselves in the slow season or with spring pre crop costs). CSA Members receive weekly shares of the farms crops through out the season. The up-front payments earn CSA members priority over other avenues of sales for their CSA farm.
